Those Mondo Cane guys are back with an astoundingly non-P.C. farrago purporting to expose the history of black subjugation in pre-Civil War America. Gorgeously mounted but stunningly exploitative, it was rated X when first released in the States in a considerably reworked version. NSFW

my friends were surprised that when we were talking about the movie, i told them that 4 people in the Robocop cast. Peter Weller and Ray Wise(S5) Paul McCrane(S6) and Kurtwood Smith(S7) all wound up of seasons of 24'

Saw Vertigo for the first time when it was reissued in the '80s, as part of a batch of Hitchcock-owned titles that had been locked up in the vault for a couple of decades (also including Rope, The Trouble With Harry, The Man Who Knew Too Much and Rear Window). The film blew my everlovin' teenage mind at the time, and I've been lucky enough to see it in a theatre a few times since then, and it never fails to suck me into its descent into madness...
