Trailer 525 of 700
Audiences didn't "get it" at the time, but Ridley Scott's dystopian neo-noir sci-fi extravaganza has gone on to become a classic, distributed over the years in so many different cuts we can't list them all. But each version shares the same mesmerising ambience of a dehumanizing future society we're finally beginning to recognize as our own.
I swear to she-god, one of your all time greatest! This trailer is ALMOST as awesome as the iconic poster! Love that pan of chanting 'island beauties' and Mr. Corman's commentary is as relaxing as a Hawaiian vacation...
I was in LA at the time doing promotional work for the Fox release of my MFHK. I remember going to WLF on Hollywood Boulevard and having a pulse pounding ride that purged the stresses of the day...
I remember this from years ago and it's really good. And the commentary is full of the stuff I need to know! I wondered why we did not see much more of JMV, now I know.
As a Dick Miller completest, I clearly have to see this picture. I can't believe it's passed me by so far.
Love this one, and love all the cheezy plot within a plot within a plot ripoffs that followed (remember all those gorgeous black and white Hammer second features?).
It out-convoys CONVOY! I wonder if this inspired Peckinpah to make his ill-fated trucker movie.
